Science and Technology in India

When I say the word India what first comes to your mind? …
Okay that was expected :D food, dancing and Shahrukh Khan :D :D
Okay …. :D
I’m going to talk about science and Technology in India. India has lots of recent developments in the Telecommunications area. As it is the second largest in the world based on the total number of telephone users (both fixed and mobile phone).
India accounts for about 10% of all expenditure on research and development in Asia and the number of scientific publications grew by 45% over the past five years. India has only 140 researchers per 1,000,000 populations, compared to 4,651 in the United States. India invested US$3.7 billion in science and technology in 2002–2003. For comparison, China invested about four times more than India, while the United States invested approximately 75 times more than India on science and technology. Despite this, five Indian Institutes of Technology were listed among the top 10 science and technology schools in Asia by “Asiaweek” magazine.
And one of the biggest evidences that India is so at the top in the telecommunications that if you surfed the internet (youtube) for any mobile phone such as Nokia, Samsung or iOs, you will find that 98% of the videos is made by people from India.
That’s For the Technology Part ;).
And for the Science evolution in India:-
India is taking rapid strides towards industrialization and technological development. There will likely be significant developments in the nuclear energy sector as India looks to increase its nuclear capacity. There is also an indication that nanotechnology will change the face of the Indian pharmaceutical industry. The agriculture sector will also see a major revamp with the government investing heavily for the technology driven Green Revolution. The Government of India, through the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy-2013, among other things, also aspires to position India among the top five scientific powers in the world.
